AQIPS PSO and Provider Convention and Law and Litigation Conference

AQIPS Litigation Center announces the first annual AQIPS PSO and Provider Convention/AQIPS Law and Litigation Conference to be held Sunday - Monday, September 17-18 at the Capital Hilton in Washington DC.  This collegial meeting is developed for Patient Safety innovators, thought-leaders, PSOs and providers, including HIT developers, and lawyers and litigators interested in gaining comprehensive knowledge about improving quality of patient care using the Patient Safety Act.  Sessions will be presented by leading clinicians and lawyers.  The agenda brochure is posted here.

Topics to be discussed include:

  • Implementing the 21st Century cures Act for improving patient care though Health IT using PSOs;
  • Using the privilege and immunity protections for big data and predictive analytics;
  • Best Practices for designing a Patient Safety Evaluation System;
  • Using the PSQIA protections to improve root cause analysis, implement a systems analysis and action plan (Root Cause Systems Analysis);
  • Using the PSQIA protections for centralized peer review programs, medical necessity audit programs and integrated care (ACO, CIN), Clinical data registries and programs under MACRA;
  • How HIT developers can work with providers to use the protections to improve quality of patient care through Health IT.
  • PSQIA litigation and best practices in litigating PSQIA cases.

(Attorney Session) Fundamentals in the PSQIA Protections:  This session will provide attorneys and litigators with best practices in the implementation of the protections in the Patient Safety Act and Patient Safety Act litigation.  PSQIA case briefing will be discussed and cases analyzed.  More Details...
